This week saw the iconic Ipswich market move to Princes Street as the Cornhill reconstruction began.

The move is part of Ipswich borough council’s plan to bring back the “Wow Factor” to the town centre.

It was met with mild controversy from both the public and the store owners, who were concerned that customers would struggle to find the new spot.

However, minds were put at ease when the market reopened Thursday to an overall positive reception.

The project will cost £3.6m, and involves the building of a water feature and more seating to turn the area into an attraction in its own right.

In Stowmarket, NHS executives met after the winter crisis lead to “shocking” ambulance delays.

The summit was held Tuesday, away from the press and public, and is believed to have discussed emergency room queues and ambulance waiting times of over an hour.

NHS England revealed that they had agreed on an action plan, but remains silent on the details.

The meeting of around 26 people included representatives from NHS improvement, the East of England Ambulance Trust (EEAST) and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
