A man has been arrested after two people in their 50s were assaulted in Bury St Edmunds.
The attack occurred on Friday, November 23 in Risbygate Street, near to the Wilko Store.
Both a male and a female in their 50s were pushed to the floor by an assailant although neither of them were hurt.
A man has since been arrested, questioned and bailed in connection with the incident.
According to a police spokesman, the two victims were walking home from the town when a man approached them.
An argument broke out between the couple and the perpetrator, who pushed the man to the floor.
He then preceded to push the female to the floor when she attempted to intervene.
A 40-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.
He was questioned by detectives at Bury St Edmunds Investigations Centre and then released on bail pending further investigations.
Officers are keen to speak to any witnesses who may have seen the incident.
