An Ipswich Town defender has given away shirts to fans in another kind gesture.
Town fans Tom Pullen and Glenn Parker had purchased a new Ipswich shirt for the upcoming season with Tyrone Mings’ name on, with the number 15 he wore last season.
However, his squad number was changed to number three on Monday, meaning the number no longer matched for this season. Following tweets to Mings, 21, he responded to the pair, promising to get them a shirt with the new number.
He tweeted Mr Parker saying: “new shirt with 3 on the back is on it’s way to you” and tweeted Mr Pullen asking for his size, and that he’d get the newly printed shirt sent out to him.
This is the second gesture he has made towards fans, after getting two tickets for a fan who couldn’t afford a game in March 2013.
Steve Pearce, ITFC media manager, said: “That will be the last time Tyrone announces his squad number before the manager then! Seriously though, it’s a nice gesture from Ty and one I’m sure the fans concerned appreciate.”
