The Starbucks at Cineworld in Ipswich is set to get outdoor seating for the first time this summer after permission was sought from Ipswich Borough Council.
A formal planning application has been submitted by Cineworld Cinemas Ltd to designate unused space outside the front of the cinema in Cardinal Park for outdoor seating in warm weather, on behalf of the Starbucks in the first floor of the cinema.
It is not yet known how many people the area will seat.
The application is in the consultation period, and is due to be reviewed by planning officers at the end of May, allowing the store to begin implementing the plans in June if the bid is successful.
The coffee shop opened at the cinema in August 2013, before a franchisee in the Buttermarket closed in March 2015.
In February this year, a drive-through store opened in West End Road.
