Hundreds of school pupils, children and families took on a 2k road race challenge this afternoon as part of the Twilight 5k event at Ipswich Waterfront.

Crowds lined the streets around the Waterfront as they cheered on participants in both races, which kicked off from 1.45pm.

The Daily Mile wave saw around 300 schoolchildren lace up their running shoes for the challenge, as part of a national initiative to encourage youngsters to be more active.
