Memory

Ipswich Town Vs Bolton Wanderers (May 17, 2000). It was the semi-final for the Championship Play-Off Final and turned into on a dramatic, emotional rollercoaster of a night. With only 50 seconds on the clock, Jim Magilton got the third goal to push it into extra time. We won the match 7-5 on aggregate and it meant that we booked a spot at Wembley and ended up winning promotion to the Premier League.

Landscape

Sitting outside the Ramsholt Arms by the River Deben just watching the world go by. It was a special place for my husband and I when we were dating and we still go back there occasionally.

Beach

Covehithe, near Beccles. It is a bit of a hidden gem as it is a peaceful stretch of sand backed by crumbling golden cliffs. There are no facilities there so be warned!

Place to eat

We are blessed with lots of lovely places to eat but for special occasions, you can find nowhere better than Maison Bleue in Bury St Edmunds.

Pub

The weekend in our house generally starts with a trip up the coast to Aldeburgh on Friday evening and a visit to the White Hart where Adnams’ Ghost Ship beer is the best that you will find in the county. We will often nip next door to collect our fish and chips and eat them in the beer garden under the well-lit and heated gazebo.

Shop

Pump Street Bakery – they make the most amazing bread and pastries which you can eat in their café or take home.

Export

One of my favourites is Baron Bigod made by the Crickmore family at Fen Farm Dairy. I’m always really proud to see produce from Suffolk featured in menus throughout the country.

Day out/attraction

You cannot beat the Suffolk Show or Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival. They showcase what is great about the region. I moved to Suffolk about 20 years ago and as I had always lived in large towns and cities, I had previously only seen cows in fields when in the car but to see them close up at the Suffolk Show makes you realise how big they are.
