A Suffolk library has been praised for its engaging approach to social media and is said to be enjoying success in many of its regular groups.
Stephanie Bennell, Framlingham Town Council’s library representative, told councillors the last month had been a “complete whirl”.
She said a recent Facebook post titled “It’s not all about books you know”, which outlined other uses for the library including helping a homeless person apply for housing, had been viewed more than 2,000 times.
The post was also highlighted by Suffolk Libraries’ Twitter feed, which said “we love this Facebook post from Framlingham library”.
Ms Bennell said the library’s book start sessions “are growing week by week” and 170 children had joined its summer reading challenge. The town’s Citizens’ Advice Bureau was also said to have been “much busier” since moving to the library “and is considering expanding its opening hours”.
