Leiston’s Alde Valley Academy hosted its annual Fun Day on Sunday.
The event, organised by the Friends of Alde Valley, included a performance by Saxmundham Primary School Choir and GCSE music students, and displays of classic motorbikes and vehicles.
There was plenty of family fun with a variety of competitions, games and a grand prize draw, including dog agility competitions, nail painting and Splat the Rat. Students also showed off their creative skills at an art exhibition of their work.
Many of the stalls were run by students who had prepared items for sale beforehand.
In addition, members of ‘Suffolk New College on the Coast’ were present to answer questions on future plans for the post-16 and adult education courses planned for the future.
Mike Wilson, academy principal, said: “The academy’s links with the local community are very important to us and it is extremely rewarding to see the school re-establish itself as a part of the town’s success.”
He thanked everyone who had been involved in the organisation of the event and the local community for supporting the day.
