A café based next to a garden and home centre has been given a major facelift in time for the summer season.

Café 24 is based at Stonham Barns Park - a holiday and leisure park off the A1120 close to Debenham and Stowmarket.

Owner Sarah Shaw last year achieved her late mother's lifelong dream to own and run a café.

Now she is "delighted" with her newly-constructed outdoor area which features planting from the Stonham Discount Garden & Home Centre next door.

She serves seasonal dishes featuring locally-sourced ingredients and this year has invested in a new look.

Customers can dine in, dine out or enjoy a takeaway from the new-look venue, which is decorated in greys and pinks.

"I have put this together as a tribute to my mum who was my role model and inspiration," said Sarah.

"She was a home baking enthusiast and very much a people person. So, it’s a dream to be able to follow in her footsteps and do what she wanted to do."

She wanted the café to be the venue of choice for people living in local villages as well as visitors to the venue, she said.

"It is good to get to know the people who make Suffolk what it is. Many who work away from home residents do not get the chance to socialise with friends and neighbours.

"Most people are stuck for time. This is where meeting places like Café 24 do work to give everyone the opportunity to grab whatever time they can for some refreshments and chill-time."

As well as serving up coffee the venue, Sarah - who was born in London and brought up in Essex before moving up to Suffolk - said food was a big focus.

"This is also a restaurant with a top chef who delights in plating up delicious food and mixing up the menus.

"The meat is locally sourced, the vegetables and herbs too. We live in Suffolk where agriculture is all around us and so we produce food that reflects our countryside location. It’s all top-quality food served in a friendly, relaxed and informal setting."

Opening hours are 8am until 4pm, seven days a week.
