A retired farmer enjoyed a memorable day revisiting her family's pig farm.
Eileen Hammond, 86, got the opportunity to return to Red House Farm, Yaxley, after team members at Care UK’s Hartismere Place on Castleton Way arranged a special trip for her.
Eileen spent a significant part of the day sharing memories of her farming life with her sons who currently run the farm.
Eileen was born and brought up in Ipswich.

Her father was a tailor and her mother focused on raising their family.
Eileen married Paul Hutton-Hammond on September 28, 1961, and soon after they bought their first pig farm in Stowmarket.
After moving to Red House Farm, they raised their two sons, Richard and David.
Following Paul's death, Eileen passed on the farm to her sons who continue the family business.
Eileen now enjoys time with her four grandchildren.
Eileen said: “I always vowed not to be a farmer's wife of any sort, but I fell in love.”
She's fond of her younger years on the farm, reminiscing: “I remember chasing the pigs when they got out and trying to get the dog to bring them back.

The return to the farm was a hit, with Eileen saying: “I enjoyed the whole experience of being back on the farm with my family, and I’m looking forward to going back when the piglets are born so I can hold them.”
The endearing visit was part of the ‘Wishing Tree’ initiative by the home.
Claire Martin, home manager at Hartismere Place, said: “It was wonderful to see Eileen in her element, showing everyone around the farm and pigs she cared for and wowing the team with farming facts."
