A popular festival will illuminate the lesser-known talents of renowned artists.
The Woodbridge Festival of Art and Music, returning for its 12th outing, will feature celebrities showcasing abilities they are not generally associated with.
Starting on Friday, August 30, the festival's theme this year flips the script on the usual line-up of international stars and beloved local acts.
Envisage seeing film stars spinning records, celebrated authors performing tunes and TV hosts unveiling musical albums.
This unique theme is intended to underscore the festival's commitment to cross-platform art.
The founder of the festival, DJ Ben Osborne said: "We chose the name Woodbridge Festival of Art and Music because we hope to inspire and showcase music and a wide variety of the arts in our community."
Importantly, this theme is designed to showcase the fact that well-known artists possess creative abilities in other art forms which are less publicised.
Alice Stallard, the festival chair and art co-ordinator, stressed that the festival's growth had not only seen more professional artists participate but had sparked a significant surge in community involvement.
M Stallard said: "We thought this would be a good time to showcase some of the art skills that our musicians also have.
"And, once we hit on that idea, a wealth of artists with hidden talents started to emerge from every artistic discipline we work with.
"It’s hugely exciting."
