Smoke was seen billowing from a tractor after reports of a vehicle fire this afternoon.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were sent to Rede Lane, Claydon, just before 2pm and received the stop call an hour later at 3pm.
Three appliances were mobilised from Ipswich East, Princes Street and Needham Market.
A spokesman for Suffolk Police says the fire was caused by a fuel leak and officers closed the road while crews extinguished the flames.
No injuries have been reported.
A spokesman said BT were contacted as it was believed a telegraph pole was damaged in the blaze.
