Ipswich Town Football Club has announced the route of its open top bus parade after the team secured promotion into the Premier League.

The Tractor Boys gained automatic promotion after beating Huddersfield 2-0 at Portman Road on Saturday.

A spokesman for the club said: "The scenes at full-time will live forever, with the chance to make further memories on Monday with an open top bus parade through the town."

The parade will start on Sir Alf Ramsey Way at midday before ending in Christchurch Park.

Fans are expected to line the streets as the Blues make their way through the town after a historic season.

After passing by the stadium, the parade will head along Sir Alf Ramsey Way, Portman Road, Handford Road and then onto Civic Drive.

The bus will then turn onto Crown Street and head along Soane Street and up Bolton Lane, before moving onto Westerfield Road and then into Christchurch Park at approximately 1pm.

Big screens will be in place in Christchurch Park, near to the entrance on Westerfield Road, giving supporters the opportunity to enjoy the full parade before the players and staff arrive in the park.

When they arrive at the park Kieran McKenna and the players will speak to supporters from their open top bus, before leaving at around 1.45pm.

Last year, Town fans gathered in their thousands in Christchurch Park to celebrate promotion to the Championship.

Town players and staff took to the stage throughout the party in the park with celebrations in full swing.

Now fans will get to repeat those joyous scenes just 12 months on, with their Championship stay short-lived, in the best way possible.
