A spokeswoman described the fire as "large" at around 14m by 6m, and said that she believed that the whole barn was ablaze.
Fire crews from Mildenhall, Newmarket, Ely and Cambridge tackled the blaze, which is under control but burned for nearly four hours.
While five fire crews initially attended the incident, another crew from Newmarket joined to help the teams.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service had doused the flames by 1pm today though crews remain on scene to check for hotspots and that the scene is safe.
