A large emergency service presence has been seen in Ipswich in an ongoing incident.

Police were called at 3pm this afternoon (March 25) to the town centre to assist the ambulance service.

A police spokesman said there is no risk to the public and no crime has taken place.

A cordon is in place in Princes Street and an air ambulance landed in Portman Road.

Fire crews and ambulance were also in attendance to the isolated incident.

This story has been updated as police confirmed later this afternoon a woman had been taken to hospital.
