A van fire on the A14 caused delays for drivers near the Orwell Bridge this morning.
Police and fire crews were called to the eastbound carriageway at 8.40am.
A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said the car was "smoking".
The vehicle has now been moved to the lay-by.
Traffic is now moving freely again, according to the AA Traffic Maps.
Two appliances from Ipswich East and Princes Street were called to the scene.
