A lorry trailer with up to eight tonnes of old tyres inside had to be cleared by a council at a "considerable cost" after it was abandoned in a fly-tipping incident.
The trailer was recently discovered along the A1307, on the outskirts of Haverhill in west Suffolk.
Inspecting the unit, West Suffolk Council officers found about seven to eight tonnes of old tyres inside.
A spokesman for the authority said it was in a poor condition and unworthy of being used on the road.
It had to be removed with specialist recovery at a "considerable cost" to the council.
The tyres were unloaded and taken away for correct processing.
David Taylor, cabinet member for operations at the local authority, said: “We are deeply disappointed by this reckless act of environmental vandalism.
"Illegal dumping undermines our collective efforts to maintain clean and healthy communities.
"This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of proper waste disposal practices and the need for community vigilance in combating fly-tipping.
"Together, we can protect our environment and preserve the beauty of our neighbourhoods.”
